Being the cheap bastard that I am i'm going to try charging a 7.2V Li-Ion pack on my non lithium capable charger.

I have soldered a protection board to the pack so i'm hoping that will be enough to stop the charging at 4.2 volts per cell and thus stop an explosion.

if you dont hear from me for a few days call the police.

BTW, my iWaver04 Bigfoot f#@king hammers with the Li pack. Almost double the volts must be a good thing. !super

i'm alive!!!!
My trick worked! Charged to 4.35Volts per cell and the safety circuit stopped the charger. But now I realised I should just have the ciruit on the charger rather that the packs because it keeps shutting down my pack when it's in the Bigfoot because it's discharge limit is 3Amps and the truck draws about 5. You have to keep disconnecting/reconnecting to reset it.

hehe

what a cool idea though.

you may have to make a "how-to" for it now :P

help all us other cheap ****ers out :)

Basically i am just using the protection circuit I brought from batteryspace when I brought a heap of Li-Ion cells. It protects the cells from overchargeing and over discharging.

I'll get some pics asap
