SMC are one of the better brands out there, the fastest 1/8th electric truggy guys over here swore by the SMC pack's ... Ive just brought some 2s SMC packs from amain yesterday as my trackpowers are getting a bit old

Didnt know smc made a 1s lipo
Are you think of using 2 1s packs to get 7.4v ?
you will want to check the dimensions of the 1s pack as they are the same size as a 4 cell pack ..
I have a smc battery for over 3 years now still goes well

Wow, I'd heard only bad things about them when I had the Savage Flux, puff prone and had to be treated differently (couldn't be stored for over a day charged etc)
They may be fine, and some ppl may have had a lot of joy with them, but I place them about on par with Maxamps.
I heard the 1 and 2s packs are some of the best out there, but the 4s packs have had some problems with with the soldering within the packs.
Dont know if that was on RC Tech or the Amain reviews.
Either way its probably a small number.
As most people know I'm a Fantom fan but they're starting to outprice themselves and with the 4s SMC being $40usd cheaper, (retail) I will probably check them out.

This thread is worth a read:

Some pro SMC comments but a fair few negative as well.
