Is anyone here a member or know of someone who is a member of radio rally (burswood)? I have heard that there is MT grass racing there on some weekends. I think I missed one race according to a post on there web site.

Yeah I'll go anywhere that is keen to get an MT class going. I'd really like to try help in any way I can getting nitro MT racing going in Perth. I know a few other guys who are interested in regular racing as well.

Dlux

Theres probably only three of us that regularly turn up on race days at whiteman. Some days if theres enough 1/8ths racing, they'll have another class and put us in with them so we can have a go. Thats why I joined west coast as well so I can have a regular race, but obviously I had to get an electric vehicle. The problem is getting the ppl that are keen on racing to turn up. Theres probably heaps of ppl with MT's but just not interested in racing. The beginning of this year our club had lack of racing even for the 1/8ths which we think is due to the poor state of the track.

James, I know the guys up at whiteman, and majority of them are hard core 1/8th buggies bar Ian Haley who races MT's (hmph hmph Rockweilder hmph truggy) over in Indo regularly. Paul Wylie (president/treasurer) is thinking about joining westcoast for the off season at whiteman. He just bought a B4 and has very little clue about electrics. I tried last year posting on a forum or two and approaching shops about sparking interest in MT racing but ppl just don't turn up. Maybe cos it's early sunday mornings and they just can't BF going. Adrian you remind me of me when I first got my MT showing heaps of enthusiasm and just getting out there. Good for you. The guys I know have other commitments which hold them back from racing......................such as a girlfriend !rant

Aj
10-06-2005, 11:45 PM
my girlfriend is just understanding :p

i'll turn up anyhow and have a go i guess :) you make about the 4th person i've talked to who'd be keen to race regularly so maybe there's a few more around the place. maybe if every time some keen newbie comes along all full of excitement they make a noise there will eventually be enough of us 8)

i am gonna turn up to the next whiteman park winter meet and see if i can get a drive in or something anyhow :P

OK YALL!! I've spoken to the club head at whiteman and he's all for MT racing during the winter season. The next meet is this Sunday but it's short notice so the next meet is on Sunday 17th July starting at 10am till about 3pm (weather permitting). This gives everyone time to organise themselves and a chance for those that wanna race, to race.

It is located on the grassed area adjacent to Dog exercise area in Mussel Pool Whiteman Park. Races are 10 minutes long. And if you're fast enough, you might be able to race in the fianls against the buggies (15, 20 or 30min mains)

Check on this link for pics of the track

http://www.radiorally.org.au/goto/view_a_cat/cid/84.html

So those that are keen and know of others that are, come up for the day and lets see if we can get NITRO MONSTERS happening in Perth !super

Just a reminder about next sunday 17th July. 1st race around 10ish so anyone of you's or your mates with a MTs or buggies, bring it. Be good to meet some of you guys for a days racing. Also it's NOT at the club track but near the Mussel pool area with in the centre of the national park, so just listen out for the screams of nitro engines. Some of us will be there early to set up for the day. See you there !super

Woo I'll be there for a looksy. I want to see if the gas trucks bring on a migraine or not. I get migraines alot - I am curious whether or not if the smell or noise will bring one on. If not, I might get myself a gas truck too! :D

OJ, certain food preservatives and paint fumes knock me about.

the nitro doesnt affect me and neither does the noise.

the nitro fumes upset the wife tho as she gets really sick at the smell of them, hence im selling the bastards off :(

Stress and excessive noise at long periods mainly. All my muscles in my upper back and neck tighten, the back of my eyes pulse - I know one is comming on.

Bad ones, I can't stand up without throwing up. I have to lay down in a darkened room. I have had them for 5 years now.

But I am keen to get into gas monsters - Considering the amount of them running. Would be a blast to run both gas and electric :)

justo316
11-07-2005, 04:28 PM
Thank god I don't throw up from my migraines. I came close once. But I've had them for so long and so often I know how to deal with them. That said, it's usually rare that I go a few days without any sort of headache.

Dlux
11-07-2005, 06:40 PM
RC_King - You don't have to be a member to race this sunday I don't think. Theres been occasions in the past that non members have come to join in the days racing and had a ball. The fee just might be $5 more for non members to participate if any.

Numbers and interest are high on the priorities. At the moment MOBC are on the border line of not running next season due to white ants destroying the top of the rostrum. Funds are needed to construct a new upper level and we're short.

Martin Wolhuter is or has designed a new track which will be bigger and incorporate a longer straight across the front rather the back (so the rc's can really open up), a 4m long table top thats 2 XX gallon drums high and other niceties, so I've heard. Glad he's doing it with his international racing experience.

BB, last years Monster Madness had max'd out, Baz, Mark, Stan and some others from west coast run the races. If theres a few emaxx guys rock up, I'm sure they'll accommadate you'se in with shorter race times. Bring yours just in case. Hell I'll let you race my truck, so you can get the jist of it. I'll also be running a 1/8th buggy on Sunday so I'll have my day cut out for me. I competed in two events at Ryper so I thought I'll give 2 nitro events a go. Never raced a 1/8th buggy before so see how I go !super

Bowling Ball
11-07-2005, 10:23 PM
Thanks Dave. I'll come down this Sunday for a look. Don't want to involve myself too much at this point as I might be struck down with a migraine.

I doubt I'll have the Maxx ready for Sunday - I blew the rear diff doing big ass jumps. Suppose I could just put another $35 diff in there. I'll wait and see what happens :)

Dlux
11-07-2005, 11:13 PM
Max'd out a fellow member has bought an XB8 and he knows I'm shopping for a buggy so he's letting me use his other Hyper for the day to get a feel of buggy racing. If you're not doing anything Sunday, bring your Hong Nor up for a hack.

BB have you been going to South Guildford again with your maxx? Well you know what you need to do about your diff. GO UE!

You could always put some ear plugs in :)
I know when im getting one when my eye sight goes all sicodelic and its like having a million disco balls flashing in my eyes and then it goes to tunnel vision before going back to normal and thats when the migraine hits me :(

If thats a migraine, then I must be getting one every Saturday night when I'm out on the turps. %-6 !dodge !vomit

Sly you dog. I tried to call you weekend after I saw you up at whiteman to come down to Burswood with your revo. I accidently erased your new number so looked you up in the white pages. Dude either you or your missus talk on the phone too long. You didn't miss much anyways.

As if your wasp 26 wasn't fast enough, A 27 in a REVO!!! Good golly miss molly, that'll put my 28 to shame. I'll see you this weekend at Carine, though the weather............hmmmm

For those that are interested. This Saturday evening will be the first race meeting for this season up at Whiteman Park. Work that is left to do will be finished up tomorrow nite (fingers crossed).
All those with 1/8th buggies/MT's/truggies or 1/10th trucks/MT's/truggies who wanna try out some friendly racing under lights, bring it! Racing is scheduled to start at 4pm till around 10pm. As far as what classes will be runned will be finalised on the day depending on the types of r/c's that turn up. I will confirm on Wednesday to make sure that the lil work left over was completed on Tuesday.
All the noobs that are keen, tis the time to start. I will go thru all the procedures/rules blah blah blah with you so that your time there will surely be a good one...........and don't forget the Aeroguard.

31-10-2005, 09:08 PM

I need to run in a new motor now so I'm not sure if I will get there for the next meet either.

I wouldn't mind lining up a bit of a bash soon though who's keen? Probably in 2 weeks as I am away and need to wack a few parts and new donk on the beast then run it in.

Out of interest how did you go Sly cause I remember that revo and it does Pi$$. How did the losi go and was there many down there?

Sorry fo all the questions but I am away with work there fro missed the meet. I need info guys i'm only concerned for MT's though!!

Dlux
07-11-2005, 07:54 PM
There was only one and it has only had the motor broken in. Poor guy stuffed up one of the steering servos. Bought a new one off another member but had servo/linkage issues which prevented him from continueing.........NO BRAKES. He wanted to take it out on the track, but I had advised him it was his choice but I highly don't recommend it in case something breaks.

slylux
07-11-2005, 11:21 PM
i didnt run the picco 27 on the track .. that truck is setup to bash .. i run the small block RB .23 truck .. it went good , need to sort out susp a bit .. but a good starting point so far ...
man sounds lik some ppl are scared to go to the race track thinking its hard or ppl r all serious about it .. truck class is usually a heap of bashers , and nothin rong with lapping at yr own pace .. im sure no-one minds .. i mean i was only truck and i run with buggies , so i just pulled over a bit when a buggy wanted to pass ..

Nitro LST
09-11-2005, 01:27 PM
Dlux..do you know the guy with the LST I can help him straight out with that Linkage problem.

All he needs to do is ditch the stock servo saver and get a Dynamite or Ofna linkage like you will see in my pics. It's just a straight arm servo horn.

Slylux..Wanna catch up for a bash sometime soon?

James you need one to Compliment all those other Losi's you have! If you don't need local back up and service bring one in from Killer Hobbies you will save a few $$$$

I think there isn't that much I don't know about this truck now! So if you get one and need any help just give us a yell. Besides we need a few more Bashers and Racers by the sounds of things.

Check out the Whiteman website (below) for fixtures. Race meets are now 2nd and 4th Satnites of the month. So tomorrow is the first official meet for the season.
Question I was asked tonite by BB, was can Emaxx's (electric) enter and yes by all means. We usually run 6 min heats and longer for the finals, but I'm sure the finals run time can be reduced to factor in battery run time.
From the guys I know, 3 REVOs will be heading up including one that will have an OS .21 VZ(B) V SPEC big block installed (if he gets his a$$ into gear). Slylux, watch out! Hopefully the guy with the LST from last week comes as he was itching to race but couldn't due to servo linkage problems. Hope he's got that sorted out. And also the other Savage owner brings his up too.
I won't be racing but I will be heading up to set up & help out. Elanor (my MT) is waiting for a 3 speed to arrive.

I went too the track today all I can say is oh man I have some learning to do before I get out there!

I was there on Saturday during the day for a bit, having a look as I was running a new motor in at home. There was a young bloke with a T-Maxx with a clear lid that seemed to Pi$$!

Dlux
13-11-2005, 10:46 PM
That kid came up from Bunbury with his dad for the nite meet. They venture up this way every now and then. That TMaxx is all Unlimited Engineering with a Novarossi 28. I think the clear cover is so that everyone can see the BLING!

Nitro LST
14-11-2005, 11:47 AM
Yeah a kid was telling me at the Track yesterday that the Tmaxx is worth $3000 odd. Oh well I have about $1200 to spare! And a heap of practise.

James
14-11-2005, 12:52 PM
I'm now considering a 1/8th buggy instead of an MT.. haha it's a tough choice but I guess I'm more of a racer than basher and a buggy seems like a more logical choice in that regard...

the hyper 7 PBS is a pretty well priced way to get into it.. having said that one of my sponsors manufactures alumn hop-ups for the kyosho 7.5.. but that's one expensive kit haha.. hrmmmm damn. dont really want to invest if i find i dont like nitro! (never owned nitro before).. maybe i should get a used banger hyper 7 first...

Nitro LST
14-11-2005, 01:03 PM
Yeah Nitro can be a head ache but also a lot of fun when it's all going well. The buggies fly man and they corner and drive so well compared to a MT! I was watching them on the weekend and thought they would be fun. But when it's a few trucks on the track I reckon it would be more fun!

15-11-2005, 03:19 PM
umm $3000 .. more like $3000 usd .. its worth $5000 plus .. just the diffs and a-arm set of worth over $1000 usd , but i think my revo seemed faster // when it was running properly , eg LSN winding itself in .. nitro r/c is wicked .. once u sort out a bit of tuning .. highly recommend 1/8 buggy or nitro MT ..

Well last nite was a blast but racing was cut short due to rain. 6 trucks all up with numbers increasing each week which is great for this class. Slylux one of the truggies guys was quick too. I beat him only cos he stalled so I finished 1st for the first heat

slylux
27-11-2005, 11:02 PM
ill take on the truggies .. once i get my s^$%t sorted .. also buying a 1/8 buggy to have a bash too .. highly encourge ppl to give it a go too .. buggies are cheap really .. with RTR package starting at $450 , and can be quite competetive !! its probly cheaper than electric buggies ..

27-11-2005, 11:02 PM
rain doesnt stop nitro racing does it?

Dlux
28-11-2005, 08:38 AM
When the clay track gets too sludgy, it's very hard to control when you slide everywhere. Plus no one wants to stand in the rain. If it's drizzling a bit thats OK but what we had satnite was too heavy to continue.

Dlux
06-12-2005, 09:52 PM
Racing down at Bunbury Dec 4th saw Jake with that UE Rossi 28 powered T-Maxx (1st) beat me mate with OS V-Spec 21 powered Revo (1st loser). $hit I thought that Revo would smoke him, but he tells me, "I was a bit under the weather".
bull$hit. "I had a bit too much to drink" he says. Anyway, I'm if'd that I can't make it this weekend so who ever goes, let us know how it went.

Hey whats the chances anyone of you guys has a old set of Bow Ties or something simalar on wheels with 14mm hexes that they want to get rid of or lend out for a few laps?

Cos that track on my Stock LST balloons equals no steering out of some corners. At least thats what I think is wrong with my set up so I need to try these tyres before I buy a set. Don't wanna seem like a tight ar$e but my missus is gonna explode If I spend any more on this truck before the years out!
