VIC State Titles 2011

not sure if people will be able to see them but peter from keilor posted up some photos from a recent race meet at mildura on the new track surface and layout..

Ray took out 2wd. 4wd and Truck open that weekend, Ben Stiriling did well aswell pushing ray so mod will be a tough group come the Vic's come Aug

Hey guys,

Hope to see some of the faces from WA over for the Vics... the Mildura track is one of the best in the country (definitely the most fun layout I have driven in Oz) with a great surface and a super enthusiastic club.

Control tyres will be Holeshot V2.0s (standard inserts etc) which seem to give pretty good wear. I was running Double Dees last weekend and getting 3-4 runs out of them. At that time of the year the weather is usually cold overnight but sunny through the day, so the track tends to get a blue/black groove.

Ive heard Ari may be attending also, so we will all have our work cut out :) Ben Sterling is super fast and Logan Symes is very strong on his home track. And of course Matt Griffin...

We had 108 entries last weekend (ORRCA Vic state round, similar to WA Interclubs) and even with 3Q / 3F the racing was finished by 430 - the club runs a tight meet. There will be a SCT class for the first time this year as well.

Anyone who is interested in coming over and wants some more info on tyres / setup / accomodation etc, let me know (here or ray@rccar.com.au).

We fly over on the thursday arvo into adelaide and then drive to mildura over night to practise on friday. Race sat and sun drive back to adelaide sunday nite and land back in perth bout 8 am monday...

Should be great can't wait

Hey guys,

was great to catch up with some old faces from WA at the Vic titles last weekend. Rob, Dan and Col all made it over for what was one of the best events I have ever attended. Mildura put on an awesome track and a faultless race program. Weather was typical victoria (29C on thursday, rain and cold friday then mostly fine sat with a few showers sunday). Just under 200 entries.

If the nats are ever held in Mildura, do what you can to race there!

Ive attached a few pics of the track.... panorama was from the morning, by the end of 4wd day it had a black groove.

Hope to see more of the WA faces over this way in the future. Not sure when I will be in Perth next :(
