Ok, this is the third time tonight I've contemplated writing this post. I got the urge to get a XXX4 tonight.
I just always wanted a 4wd buggy. Not really gonna race it in this weather. Just bash it when I get tired of nitro burning my eyes and nose.
I've had plenty of 2wd buggies/trucks usage so wanted something different. I'm hoping going to 4wd will be a completely different experience. I'm guessing it is when you compare the comments made between mini-ts/rc-18ts.
Someone talk me out of/into it please?!
it will be completely different
i have heard about them and driven them its like driving a rollercoaster apparnetly sounds fun though bolt in a 6 single with a 1.194 3300mah with crazy gearing and let her rip
make sure you get the XXX4 from a good source P.H.C have got one.
good luck

I believe PHS have one left for $529.
Cheaper than from the US too. Stormer hobbies have it for $389US, plus about $50 US postage, current exchange rate of 0.76c to the dollar, means it'd cost about $580 from the US. So go aussie!

Buy one but don't bash it. Race it. Considering its low to the ground, its not the sort of car for bashing.
However 4WD is a good entry into racing. You can only bash for so long, racing adds some depth to the hobby.
BB :D
i raced RC cars in the 80's as a young kid and i raced 4wd off road. it was very popular back then.
the control is supurb, i think the reason 4wd is dormant at the moment is simply because its too smooth and too predictable. theres no challenge in it.
im a fan of 4wd. if there were more racing i would get into this.
buy it, and when youve had enough i will buy it from you =)

Bayswater (and all tracks/events) race 4WD ! infact this sunday there is a race meet at Ryper (interclub event) and there is 4WD mod and stock (i believe)
4WD buggy isn't dead.. it's just sleeping a little.
I'd never buy one of these for bashing, definately for racing! you'd have so much more fun racing than bashing. bashing is so boring... haha
Do yaself a favour, join a club (wc, carine, or ryper, etc), get down for some racing! it's heaps of fun!!
go the Losi XXX4 !

i forgot that the interclub is this weekend... quick sign me to a club :P
i might come to have a look on sunday, and maybe smuggle a few electrics into the car where the wife wont see them... she can smell a smuggled xbox from 50 feet... lets hope the rc's are a little more stealth :P

hahaha, nice one.
the weather says there will be showers wed, thur, fri.. so it's unlikely there will be racing, but you never know. I've seen Ryper put front runner (marine carpet) over the muddy sections... we'll see. My entry is in, I hope :)

you evil, evil man.....no way I'm selling the revo, not for a while. I'm just about to receive parts for it today for cryin' out loud!
But yeah, I'll basically be pushing my xxx4 around for the first month making car noises as it goes along.

Sacrelige!
Keep it pristine, put a low turn brushed motor in it, good matched 6 cell pack, and race it til the bearings wear out!

Put a Monster Stock 27 turn into it with a 18 tooth pinion and take it to one of the tracks and learn to drive it properly.
Inter the novice class and go from there.
Would be nice to see more people racing :)
