Ok this is sure to get debate going .....but will be used as input into my final purchase decision.

Q: Which is "better" 1/18 or 1/10 offroad?

By better i mean considering overall cost to make them enjoyable enough - (eg. general consensus seem to be that the T needs a lot - in my financial sit anyway - thrown at it to be good)so the RC18T seems to be better in the long run. I guess I am asking coz I have no recent exp with either of these classes and dont want to be disappointed with making a bad choice....... :)

1/10th for sure. If you want to actually race, properly.. and get air off jumps, properly, then 1/10th for sure. Buy both if you can afford it :) run two classes when racing! hehe

buy yourself a 1/10 buggy or truck, get into some club racing, its heaps of fun..

Depends what you want to do.

if you want to do a bit of micro racing and lots of bashing around the house, yard, beach, dirt, etc, get a 1/18.

if you wanna race, go the 1/10 for sure!

From my experience, 1/18th is cheaper to get up to scratch. You don't need to bomb them up as much as some of us have done. But that is part of their appeal. Try finding bling bling hop ups for a B4....

Parts are cheaper cos they're smaller. You can get the best motors for the price of low end 540's. You don't need to worry about your esc cos they can pretty much all handle the lower power draw. Batteries are cheaper.

On the down side for 1/18, I think they have limited use as opposed to what others will say. They're too small to handle well on anything but tarmac, smooooth dirt, very short grass. 1/10 is a much better handling basher.

It really depends on what your definition of 'fun' is. I get enjoyment from personalising my cars, so range of hop ups is a pergoative for me which is why I had a mini-t. If you're after racing action, then I can't help you cos I haven't raced yet. If you're after a basher, then it's all about how much money you want to throw into a car to make it bombproof.

Ha ha ha a a ha haaaa - HELL YEAH IM JEALOUS opAsx :-) but "old man" I am still in denial about hahahahahaha - so what do you reckon do you get more bashing fun from your 1/10's than your 1/18's -I think you would as like justo said the size of the 18's limit what terrain they can tackle........looks like Iam gonna have to chase a 1/10 buggy or truck off someone now :-)

i use the 1/18's alot more than my 1/10's

i dont race either.

i dont use them inside either.

the fact my rc18t costs maybe $500 and would blow my nitros away and also my larger electrics is testament to its fun factor.

i can use my 18t and mini-t on the road, gravel, short grass (i cant even use my 1/10's in long grass ffs :P ) ther eis not a lot of difference in bashabillity for me.

i have used my 1/18's in the same places i have been using my 1/10's and i prefer my 1/18's (faster, quicker, easier to handle)

i dont race so that point is not an issue to me.

Definately get an RC18T for 1/18th scale. And definately get a truck if you're going 1/10th scale. That's if you're bashing of course.

i have 2 1/10th electric trucksand a 1/10th electric buggy.

the buggy owns the trucks for top speed on bitumen, but the trucks manage to rough terrain alot better and seem to be infinitely stronger and more settled on the bashing concept. as for racing again... i dont race :( so im basing my assumptions etc on my childish play time sessions :P

I've got my LST (somewhere around 1/10th or 1/8th but meh) and just about to get one of opAsx's spare Mini-T's so I'll be able to give a more definitive response in a week or so :P

Yeah, if you want to bash at a bmx track or a park or something then a revo/savvy/lst will be the goods. If you are scared of nitro like opAsx or want more time on a track or some less extreme bashing then get an RC18T or Mini-T :P

I want the option of doing both so yeah - both are top fun cars in different circumstances and made for different terrains etc.

It's all fun!

hehehe im not scared of nitro faggy pants...

im just barely capable of making it through a bashing without being on fire or adding a new burn to the collection or drinking about 200-300mls of nitro :(

!silly

i always manage to get nitro in my mouth, nfi why.

i think i could stand 40 feet from someone else refuelling or priming my car and still cop the nitro in the mouth :(

i actually burnt my mouth with my fking glow warmer at your place the other weekend Aj, i wanted to know if mine was charged so i chucked my keyring on the end and it didnt spark. then i put my keyring in my mouth to pick something up not realising the glow warmer actually heated my key ring up...

KING DUMBASS STRIKES AGAIN!!!!
