ok, having seen my 7.4V lipo pack just go boom, i need some more batteries for the rc18t
what would be the best bet?
buy a rc18t stick pack?
buy my own cells and make a few packs myself?
the 7.2V is fine, the 7.4V lipo was great, the 11.1V lipo is just a bitch to fit into the chassis.
i was thinking buy some of the 2/3 A (i think thats what they are called being about 2/3 of a AA battery) and making my own packs up to fit the chassis.
ideally i think i would like to sort out an 8 cell and a 6 cell for the rc18t.
any help very appreciated as i want to get the rc18t up and running again without the use of the 11.1V pig battery :P
P.H.C have cheap Kan 1050 mah cells that r great for the RC18ts
Rob james use them and his go crazy !super
U can build a 8 cell or even 10 !yikes

they have box loads as far as i know... you'll need mini battery bars, or some braid to solder them together.. maybe some srink wrap stuff, or u can glue them together, etc.

You will want to make at least 7cell as it will fit snugly in the chassis with no mods. Odd double stick pack. = = = | set like that. I bought my 7cell GP1100 from www.cheapbatterypacks.com for about $30AUD shipped ea. Have gotten 4packs from them, and will most likely get somemore in the near future.
Soldering a stick pack can be hard or easy depending on how you do it. Heat the ends of the cells you want to join, then make a solder pool on one side and squish. A jig might help here. Or you just solder a bar, and then bend it. Make 2 rows of 3 then solder the 7th cell between the two sticks, add wires to the other end, glue/heatshrink everything together, and go bash!

I consider myself to be quite able to solder crap together. I still managed to short a battery and blow it up so pre-built is worth it to me.
