Heya ;) I was just looking at my sig and thought..."hang on...i have more than 3 rc's now" -lol-

So figured since i had a short vid (of ballooning tyres) and a few pics, it was worth posting up :)

Currently it kinda sucks as the axles keep snapping :( horrible stuff - so i'm searching for info on conversions or customs axles/cvds or something to fix that prob.

Yesterday i took it out for the first time on dirt, and i turned a corner....not even 30 seconds into the very first run....and then the right rear wheel fell off and rolled away -lol-
Only run it on the street out front of my house quickly since tho - hasn't had much drive time at all -lol-

Bought it second hand already converted with a Feigao 8L motor/no ESC, but i'm currently running a Lehner XL5000 BL Motor and a UForce 75 ESC - and only on 3800mah 6 cell nimh stick packs - and it's FAST!-lol-

anyways - here's pics and a vid of the ballooning - yet to get video running, as i havent run much...

what do you mean?....they came like that -lol- http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=421_52_351&products_id=13191

You can get stick pack building kits tho like this?.... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKC55&P=7

If you have saddle or side x side packs, they're usually hmm....i dunno - better for resistence and all that tech shit -lol-

but the stick packs look easier to make :D

well - unless you have one of those battery building jigs - they're prolly harder i'd say personally -lol-

check this out ;) http://www.balakracing.com/buildingbatterypacks.htm
There's heaps of good tips in the "maintenance" drop down at the top :)

other than the emaxx there are not many large scale electrics so modding one of the many nitro 1/8th's is the next best thing. :D

Yeah - there's a few reasons - mainly cause i find electric to be more 'compatable' with my level of skill -lol- And it's cleaner - no oil or fuel or crap like that...just dust it off with a brush after the end of the day and she's good to go ;)
And like opAsx mentioned - not many 8th scale elecs out there - so why not try and gain the interest! hehehe man im wetting my pants waiting for this LST to come back - it's gonna haul absolute ass!

I bought this pirate already converted tho - just having problems with the axles at the moment tho...i just found out that these wheels are CUSTOM made by the guy i bought it off!

hmmmmm....to be totally honest i would have absolutely no idea -lol- I've never seen one run...well, i've got a vid of a pretty fast Pirate 10 - but it has the upgraded 2spd that i dont have -lol- I'd say it would have to come pretty close to the nitro tho for sure :)

dan, how hard is it to go with the 2 speed on an electric?

i heard clutch points etc are a ****ing nightmare.

yeah - you have to set them so they change at the latest possible point with the electrics, as they dont have to spool up like a nitro - The power is just there -lol-

But the hardest part is the pinion/clutchbell assembly...that was one of the main reasons also i decided to go with the guy in germany...he's already done the same thing - but with a 3SPEED MAD FORCE!!! -lol-

oh yeah btw - here's a link to that video on that other Pirate - it had an SH28 in it - forgot -lol- I could MAYBE come close to this if it was like - on a flat road maybe...but this one is pretty damn fast, so i dunno -lol- http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2654837/anchors_2654837/mpage_1/key_pirate/anchor/tm.htm#2654837
