Hi,
I like this forum very much, I've found it via One18th forum. I am kinda new too rc cars. My stock mini T servo has just gived up, I have bought a new Hitec HS-55 servo. I would like to mod it with stock stock servo pcb:). My question is do you have to turn HS-55 pot turned 90deg anti-clockwise. I don't get it, why you have too do this :( . Thanks for help.

Why would you want to do this? I'm not quite sure what advantages there would be to fitting the stock servo PCB to the HS55 servo.

I found the problem; stock mean gear will not workwith Hitec HS-55 servo. Hitec pot shaft is too short to reach the half moon gap of the stock main gear.So that's why servo always turning around for seeking center prosition. Also you don't have to turn the pot 90 degrees clockwise. It took me a lot of ours to find this problem, my Hitec-55 is now broken. O well I will buy a new one, I know the problem now:).
Try a hitec HS 81. You might have to mod the chassis a bit as it's slightly bigger. My friend did it to his no probs. Just a thought

Wow, I didn't notice, but you might be our first international member? ;)
Which servo are you referring to? The HS55 is known to have problems centering more than the HS81 I think. Or is that what you were saying....? Also, is there any advantage to using a HS55 over a stock replacement?

Yeah I am from Holland:).
I am refering to Hitec HS-81 who has a centering problem:(. Hitec HS-55 is much stronger and faster then stock servo:), but it has plastic gears:(.

gee, I really thought the 81 was better than the 55. I'm sure a lot of people here would agree with that seeing as most of us put 81's in. Not that that helps your cause....good luck anyway.

Yeah Hitec 81 is better, but it has centering problem that's why I prefer Hitec 55.
